A unique motorcycle simulator has been developed by British researchers to help improve road safety and bike design. The Triumph motorbike is mounted on an interactive moving platform which is linked to driving simulation software. This projects different scenarios onto huge screens in front of and behind of the motorcyclist, which creates a realistic experience.
The simulator will be able to replicate different weather conditions, traffic and hazards and will also feature a rear road view projector that is viewable through the bike's mirrors.
"The motorcycle allows riders to operate controls and lean on the motorcycle as they would in the real world," research leader Dr Alex Stedmon said.
