martin_conquest.jpgThe Martin Conquest - acknowledged as the worlds most advanced manufacturer of Trikes for wheelchair users and motorcyclists with a disability - have launched a brand new 2008 model, the Conquest R1200R and it’s manufactured right here in the UK.

The major change for 2008 is the fitment of a high performance BMW R1200R series Boxer engine, with the 1170cc flat twin power unit making a claimed 109bhp, up 28% against the older 1150 power unit. The new BMW engine also generates 17% more torque, which is a considerable power advantage when allied to the trike’s uprated aircraft grade steel/alloy chassis and lightweight GRP bodywork with built-in electronic wheelchair ramp and secure rider safety cell.

Other high quality features which go towards making the Conquest R1200R a unique blend of strength, performance and practicality include an electronic 6 speed gearbox which allows disabled users to get the best from the new Boxer 1170cc motor, with simple, push-button operation, plus a handy reverse gear. Rear wheel drive, a motorsport derived limited-slip Muffett differential, anti-roll bar and twin, heavy duty adjustable sports shock-absorbers at the back end, help give the 2008 Martin Conquest R1200R secure handling in all road conditions.

But the 2008 Martin Conquest is much more than a motorcycle engined trike. It meets the demanding UK government regulations for the Motability scheme, with ISO 9000 procedures applied during manufacture, to help create arguably the safest, most accessible three wheeled vehicle for wheelchair users.

All the hand controls, wheelchair ramp and secure mounting point for the driver's chair, are designed to exactly fit the individual user, in terms of weight, height and upper body mobility. Martin Conquest work closely with each and every customer to make sure that their trike is built just how they want it. With every trike constructed, the Martin Conquest factory technicians are making new tweaks and valuable engineering improvements to the base concept.

There's a wide range of factory fitted accessories, such as waterproof interior trim, music systems, engine immobiliser, windscreens, parking sensors, Xenon lighting, custom paintwork and more. Comprehensive after sales back-up and a full breakdown/recovery service is included in the purchase price too.

The 2008 Martin Conquest is all about freedom, independence and fun – for every rider – Life doesn’t stop because of a disability.
