Toseland to play at Day of Champions

Toseland to play at Day of ChampionsYAMAHA MotoGP rookie and twice World Superbike Champion, James Toseland, has confirmed that he will be once again playing with his band Crash at next Thursday's Day of Champions at Donington Park.

The 27-year-old Yorkshireman said: “I played the piano for the guests in the Barcelona paddock on the night before the Grand Prix of Catalunya last week and I was more nervous than before the start of MotoGP qualifying earlier in the afternoon.

“I was classically trained to play the piano and I still read music which is a great advantage. I still practice as much as I can and really enjoy just playing.”

The following Sunday there will be no time to relax for Toseland though as he returns home to race for the first time as a MotoGP star.

Bulldog Bash gets licence to go ahead

Bulldog Bash gets licence to go ahead

A committee in Stratford-upon-Avon granted a licence to hold the Bulldog Bash 2008, although police had submitted a formal objection to the organisers’ application.

On August 12 last year, Hells Angel member Gerry Tobin was shot dead on the M40 after leaving the long-running motorcycling event.

Organisers were granted an annual licence for the event, held in Long Marston, Warwickshire, to cover this year’s planned August festival and last until 2018.

Members of the public applauded as the decision was announced. Councillor Gillian Roache, chair of the licensing committee, told the hearing: "We are of the view that we are dealing with licensed premises and licensable activities and their immediate vicinity."
