toseland_think.jpgMotoGP rider and British biking hero James Toseland, one of the biggest names in British motorsport, was greeted by hundreds of British Superbike (BSB) fans today as he visited the THINK! Motorcycle Academy at Donington Park in support of the Department for Transport’s (DfT) THINK! campaign. THINK! aims to reduce crashes involving motorcyclists by offering road safety advice and encouraging further training.

Toseland who rides for the Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP team, gave up a rare morning off from his punishing round-the-world race schedule to highlight to fans the importance of getting further training and honing their road riding skills. Hundreds of delighted fans gathered to watch the interview with the two-time World Superbike Champion who also talked about his inaugural MotoGP season and signed autographs on the THINK! stand.

James Toseland said; “It was great to be able to come to Donington ahead of my first home GP next month to watch the Bennetts British Superbike racing and have a chance to meet the fans. The THINK! campaign does a great job of educating fans about road safety and I wanted to do my bit today to help communicate the THINK! message; Give your bike the skills it deserves. Bennetts BSB races are always fantastic to watch but it’s important to communicate to fans that riding on the road is totally different. Riders must save racing for the track!”

THINK! is a major sponsor of the Bennetts British Superbike series and uses the THINK! Motorcycle Academy, an interactive unit, on-site at races to help fans learn more about further training. James Toseland was one of a host of biking stars to pledge their support for the THINK! campaign at Donington, others included; BSB rider Leon Haslam, World Supersport star Jonathan Rea as well as triple BSB Champions John Reynolds and Niall Mackenzie.
