Ventura Motorcycle Luggage Systems

E-mail Print PDF

street_triple_ventura.jpgSales of naked motorcycles rose by 13.4% in 2007 and Kiwi luggage specialists Ventura have several new fitments for machines from top European manufacturers, including the Ducati S4R, Moto Morini Corsaro and Triumph Street Triple (2008).

Ventura luggage systems are well suited to naked motorcycles because they provide masses of extra carrying capacity (up to 102 litres) and are rock steady at speed, yet the pack and rack can be stripped off in seconds, leaving the bike in all its naked glory.

The Ventura system is based around two discreet L-brackets that are custom-made for each make and model of motorcycle to ensure a hassle free and perfect fit. A Pack Rack slots into the L-brackets if carrying capacity is required and a selection of specially designed bike packs are produced to slide onto the rack.

Ventura packs are designed to sit centrally so they won’t upset the balance of the machine. When riding solo, the pack sits over the pillion seat so that it does not affect the handling or stability of the bike, (Ventura has been independently tested at over 180mph). When riding two-up it is turned around, over the rack, leaving the pillion with the maximum amount of space (unlike panniers). Ventura packs are produced in 35, 51 and 56 litre sizes, which is comparable to most soft panniers and hard luggage cases.

It is also possible to zip together two Spada packs to give a massive 102-litre carrying capacity. If no luggage is required, the Pack and Rack can be removed in seconds and replaced with a Grab Handle (£19.99) or Sport Rack (£38.99).

The systems pictured feature L-brackets (£89.99), Pack-Rack (£43.98) and 45-litre capacity Spada Pack, (in black, red or blue at £99.99), giving a total cost of £233.96. Systems are produced to fit over 1,500 motorcycles.
