Tall screen for the Kawasaki 1400GTR

E-mail Print PDF

gtr1400scrn.jpgBritish bodywork specialists Skidmarx have developed a tall screen for the Kawasaki 1400GTR that provides an extra 10cm (4 inches) of protection from the elements for riders of the ‘transcontinental tourer’.

Unlike conventional screens, which are usually 3mm thick, the 1400GTR has a substantial 5mm thick item, so Skidmarx have produced their replacement in 5mm acrylic, formed and drilled to directly replace and to allow operation of the electronic adjustment as before. Owners can choose from clear or tinted options, priced at £62.95 inc. VAT.

Kawasaki describe the 1400GTR as a ‘mega sports-tourer’ and the headlights feature prominently at the front end. Skidmarx have produced a headlight cover, in tough 3mm acrylic, to protect the massive light unit from stone chips. It is supplied with Velcro fixings and comes in clear or tinted formats at £29.95.

Skidmarx also offer a neat hugger, which mounts directly from the bike’s Tetralever shaft drive, offering under-body, shock and linkage protection. Skidmarx huggers are designed & produced in-house at the Company’s Weymouth factory, using GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic). This compact hugger has an integral chain guard and comes complete with fitting instructions and stainless steel mounting kit, priced at £79.95 in black (or £129.95 in carbon fibre).
